FAQs

Walk-ins are always welcome! However, they are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. We are a very busy studio, so we recommend to book ahead in advance.
You can make an appointment by either filling out our booking request form, or simply by popping into our studio to chat to us about your idea. You can also reach out to use over Instragram, Facebook or even WhatsApp!

All bookings require a deposit to secure your spot.

We cannot take bookings over the phone as we need the most accurate information to correctly book you in during the booking process.

It is not necessary but we do advise to book it in when you are booked in for bigger pieces and projects so you can discuss your ideas with the artist.
We have a strict 18+ policy in the shop for tattoos and a valid proof of ID is required on the day of your tattoo.
To ensure you have the best possible experience and that your body is ready for the tattooing process, please review the following preparation guidelines:

Rest and HealthA good night’s sleep before your appointment is essential. We also strongly advise against consuming alcohol the night before, as this can affect your comfort and the tattooing process.

Hygiene and ClothingWe recommend you take a shower before you arrive and wear clean, comfortable clothing. Please be mindful of your tattoo’s placement when choosing your outfit; you may need to remove certain items of clothing to make the area accessible for both you and your artist. As Dublin Ink operates as an open studio, please dress accordingly.

Nutrition and HydrationMake sure to eat a substantial meal before your appointment to keep your blood sugar stable. We also encourage you to bring snacks and a bottle of water with you to maintain your energy and hydration throughout your session.

Following these steps will help you have a smoother, more comfortable tattoo experience.

We provide every client with a special wrap called Saniderm (a clear, adhesive, medical-grade bandage) to make the healing process as easy and comfortable as possible. This “second skin” protects your new tattoo from bacteria, keeps it moist, and promotes faster healing. We provide aftercare steps to all clients after their tattoo appointment.
In almost all cases, yes, however there are a few exceptions to this rule. So for your safety, if you are in doubt: ask your G.P for a doctor’s note. This will outline your health status in relation to a tattoo and help us give you the correct after-care. If you have a rash, burn, broken skin, or sunburn in the area that will be tattooed, you must wait until the skin has healed before we can tattoo you. It is possible to tattoo over scar tissue but an in person consultation is required to determine if that is possible.
Due to health reason we will not tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you would like to know more about this let our staff know and they will be happy to assist you.
We are child friendly however if you are the one getting the tattoo it is required that there is another adult that can mind your children, as our duty is to care for you and not your children. We ask that you consider the circumstances when bringing any minors with you.
We are Dublin Ink, so are located in Dublin centre. Our Address is 5/6 South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2, D02 KT52

We understand that schedule changes happen. To ensure fairness to our artists and other clients, we strictly enforce a 72-hour cancellation policy.

Your deposit secures your time slot and is held as a commitment to your scheduled appointment. This deposit acts as a cancellation fee if the required notice is not provided.

We require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice prior to the date of the appointment for any appointment cancellation or rescheduling. If you cancel your appointment less than 72 hours before your scheduled date, or if you fail to show up (no-show), you will unfortunately forfeit your deposit. A new deposit will be required to book any future appointments.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
